Wildlife Photo Academy

The Wildlife Photography Academy was founded in 2005 as a division of Paul Burwell Photography.

We conduct instructional wildlife photography workshops and tours with a focus on providing our clients the best possible photographic experiences.

During our wildlife photography workshops, the focus is completely on you, our client. Unlike many of our competitors, our instructors do not photograph during the workshop. A paying client should not be put in a position where they need to interrupt an instructor in order to ask a question or get some guidance.

Our primary instructor, Paul Burwell, has many years of experience educating and working with adults in a cooperative and constructive environment. Paul is a professional photographer, writer and educator. His images have appeared in numerous magazines, greeting cards and calendars. He has a regular column called “Let’s Go Digital!” in each issue of Outdoor Photography Canada Magazine. In addition to the wildlife photography workshops he teaches each year, he also teaches a number of photography classes at Edmonton’s Metro Community College.

Our photography tours are opportunities for experienced and confident photographers to join like-minded individuals on a dedicated photography tour. Because these tours are aimed at the serious photographer, you don’t need to worry about ending up on a trip where others in the group might have other priorities than photography. We do our best to put together unique tours at affordable prices that offer tremendous wildlife photography opportunities.
